Caroli Park was the Kick-Off project of Urbana Frirum. We had access to the former church in the Caroli neighborhood in the center of Malmö in September of 2018. In the three weeks of our project, we turned the interior church space into what we call an “indoor park”. The project served as an installation and a collaborative, donations-based neighborhood space. It was an example that showed how Cultural Heritage sites can be appreciated and simultaneously used as innovative types of urban space. Not only material, knowledge and skills were raised within the neighborhood, but local and international artists were invited to interact with the space through their creative expressions. The work process and its outcome of Caroli Park was documented with different types of media and is currently channeled into a research process.
